Abstract: Brain infarction is an area in which the necrotic tissue presents which resulting from blockage or narrowing in the arteries supplying blood and oxygen to the brain tissues. This study is a Descriptive study which conducted at Modern Medical Center and Dar al Ilaj Specialized hospital during the period from November 2017 to February 2018. The data was collected by data collection sheet designed especially for this study which included (gender, age, infarction site, size and type) with a sample of 100 patients suffering from cerebral infarction selected randomly without determining a specific age for them, 50 patients diagnosed using MRI and 50 through CT scan then analyzed by statistical Package for the social science (SSPS). The results reveal that the most effected group were male (54% in MRI, 56% in CT), occurs commonly in elderly patients (60-79 years, 40-59 years) in both groups. In this Study, the common type of infarction was acute located commonly frontal lobe and intra cerebral with most common size which was commonly from (11 – 60) mm in both groups. The study revealed that cerebral infarction can be diagnosis either through CT and MRI using several techniques.
