The objective of this study is to assess the entrance surface dose(ESD) received by patients undergoing radiological examinations of lumbosacral joint was done in two centers new halfa and khartoum state , Entrance surface dose (ESD) was determined from exposure settings and patient information by using CAL Dos soft ware program . A sample of 50 adult patients (37 female,13 male) undergoing lumbo sacral joint X ray examination in two centers . The mean ESD calculated were (3.36947) mGy (7.68917) mGy in center A and center B respectively. for the lumbosacral joint at the ages((20-40),(40-60) and (60-80) years found to be (2.6076,3.8727 , 4.1110)mGy .incenter B the ESD at the ages (25-45) and (45-65) years found to be (7.0150 ,8.3633 ) . For (AP) projection a strong correlation was shown between ESD and KVp, mAs and patient weight.en_US
