Abstract: | Field development planning comprises a great amount of investments and involves a high number of parameters related to the geological and structural characteristics of the reservoir, to the operational scheduling and the economic scenario. The importance of this problem demands the elaboration of methodologies that can help in the management decision making process, leading to better recovery strategies that increase both reserves and profitability of reservoirs. The main objective of this work is to employ an efficient optimization technique to identify a sound field development plan for Haraz field. Optimized parameters include number of well, well placement, Production scheme for all wells and network design regardless of economic evaluation. Two major scenarios were implemented to the model by using dynamic numerical reservoir simulator (ECLIPSE). In the first scenario the field was developed by implemented several vertical wells (2, 4, 6, 8) to the base case (2vertical well), in the second scenario the field was developed by implemented 3 horizontal wells to the base case (2vertical well). The result shows that the best scenario is to implement 8 vertical wells (2 wells in base case) and the optimum cumulative oil production is 3.05 MMBO with recovery factor = 14.6%. The optimization in this study was based only on the recovery factor, oil production rate and the cumulative production during the simulation time. The best scenario (8 vertical wells) is used in constructing production network system to connect the wells by using steady-state production network simulator (PIPESIM). The network system will allow producer to interact with production facilities to make a stable system in producing fluid |
