Investigate First year University Student Awareness of Using Adverb in Sudan University of Science and Technology

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate first year university student awareness of using adverb by first year students in Sudan university of Science and Technology. And to explain the reason behind this problem. The data of the study was collected from test given to the first year students Randomly selected from English department ,Faculty of Education .five kind of adverbs . Have been covered in the test in order to examine students abilities in all application of adverbs . The results of this study revealed that students committed errors in 56% as a considerable percentage . the reason behind occurrence of these problems related to their lower experience and their mother tongue interference and other factor such as inappropriate teaching techniques, misapplication of adverbs rules and other related factor.
