Normal Reference Values of Blood Cells Count In Sudan Khartoum North Area

Abstract

This study was conduct in order to identify the normal reference values of Blood Cell Red, White and Platelet Count in Sudan Khartoum North Area Total number samples were 400(200 female and 200 male) EDTA anti coagulant venous blood samples was collected from each subject. The complete blood count (CBC) was measured by using automated haematological analyzer (sysmex kx-21) and blood film was done. Analysis was done in central lab of Khartoum North Hospital. Healthy person’s samples were collected from Sudanese population dependent on the range of standard normal count of RBCs, WBCs and Platelet + normal Hb. Subjects with symptoms with high or low readings were excluded. Samples were collected from persons aged from 16 to 60 years. A questionnaire was fulfilled by each subject. Investigations of the renal functions and urine general were performed in some of the persons to exclude of any one with abnormality. The results of study show that:- T WBCs count (4.2-6.4)×103/μL for female and (4.0-6.2)×103/μL for male RBCs count (4.2-5.0) × / μL for female and (4.6-5.6) × /μL for male. Platelet count (205.4-350.2) ×103/μL for female and (179.0-324.6) ×103/μL for male. The work conducted that platelet high in female than male. Literature review from different countries was reviewed. Also the causes of elevated and reduced of T WBCs, RBCs and Platelet count were reviewed.
