Abstract: Micropayment systems are used to purchase online products and services such as e-books, music, and Web-based content that are available for small sum of money (cents and fraction of cent). Micropayment systems worldwide have seen a little success. Why micropayment systems are not spread in Sudan and how can we convince internet users and providing companies to adopt those systems? To have an answer for that question this research attempts to design a new framework to improve the use of micropayment systems in Sudan, so a questionnaire was deign and distributed to random groups of Sudanese users from different ages. Then a statistical program (SPSS) was used in analyzing the gathered information and data. The lack of awareness was found to be the major factor of reducing the spread of those systems. Most of Sudanese users preferred free online products and services. Sudanese users overall don’t trust online purchasing systems and preferred traditional purchasing systems. The proposed framework is focuses on increasing the awareness about micropayment technique and making micropayment system reliable, easy to use and trusted to users. We have to encourage providing companies in Sudan to adopt this technique to increase their profits and to provide users with the most updated information and latest news through using micropayment technique.
