Abstract: | The aim of this study was to determine the hepatitis B virus infection among vaccinated children of age 1-4 years in Al Hasseissa Pediatric hospital. A total of 90 blood specimens were collected from children suspected having hepatitis B virus infection during the period from April to June 2012. Serological analyses of blood were performed to detect hepatitis B surface antigen using ICT and ELISA. The specimens were firstly checked by screening (ICT) and then by ELISA. The result showed that 87 (97%) of vaccinated children were seronegative by ELISA for HBV infection and 3(3.3%) were seropositive for HBV where as the screening test using ICT did not show reaction . |
