dc.description.abstractthe aim of this study was to investigate some problems which encountered Sudanese students of English language among Sudanese EFL learners, and identify the difficulties which encountered students in pronunciation of vowel sounds. The sample population of the study consisted of 100 English majors in their third and fourth year at University of Khartoum. The relevant data of the research was abstained by administering pronunciation test to clarify the difficulties which encountered students in pronunciation of vowel sounds( spoken and written).And the test consisted of(short sounds, long sounds and diphthong), and questionnaire consisted of reasons and solutions to these problems. The results of the study indicated that the overall sample were low uses English pronunciation.hypothesis and assumptions state that" there are difficulties encountered students in pronunciation and transcriptions in the words particularity in vowel sounds at University of Khartoum. The study contained on some recommendations which to be beneficial in solving the difficulties which encountered the students of English pronunciation in vowel soundsen_US
