Abstract: This study tried to investigate common mistakes on phrasal verbs among first year at Sudan University of Science and Technology. The study adopted experimental analytical method which combined both qualitative and quantitative analyses. One instrument is used for data collection which was test for the students (25 students) the data obtained from the sample of students provided answer to the research questions concerning on phrasal verbs. The data analyzed using the SPSS program and it provided percentage results for the test and mode for the personal data. Some of the most important finding which the study come up with are most of students are unable to use phrasal verbs, they didn’t have enough vocabulary to understand and use phrasal verbs properly. The study also offered some recommendations. The most important of which are the meanings and uses of phrasal verbs should be given most attention insyllabuses, moreover the study gave some suggestions for further studies.
