Pilgrims Tracking System

Abstract

Technological advancements which have shown a substantial growth concerned with each and every field of humanity, the rapid development that has occurred in smart phones and tracking systems has become a very significant factor in achieving our daily tasks. What distinguish modern technology that it is not limited to specific use or applications areas but it can be used according to our needs, one of these needs is locating and finding missing pilgrims. A system of two parts was developed to solve the problem of missing pilgrims. The first part is an android application. The second part is a server that stores the information of pilgrims and monitors their movement. After implementing the system and testing it, we able to find the missing pilgrims location and display them on a map, and detect if a pilgrim is lost and notify the authorities. On the side of system administrator a system was made for managing pilgrim’s information’s stored in the database, monitor and display reports. By using this system we were able to reduce the problem of missing pilgrims.
