Abstract: This translation consists of the introduction and part of chapter one (from pages 155 to 193). This chapter of the second section tackles the issue of sugar consumption in the Arab countries, total consumption of sugar, per capita consumption of sugar in the Arab countries, Legumes consumption in the Arab countries, total consumption of legumes, per capita consumption of legumes, oil seeds consumption in the Arab countries, total consumption of agricultural seeds, per capita consumption, of oil seeds and vegetable consumption in the Arab countries. Besides; it also tackles total consumption of vegetables, per capita consumption of vegetable as well as total consumption of oil and fats at the level of the Arab countries. The work clearly highlights food security problem and to what extent the Arab countries need to import main food goods. It also put forward solutions for economic growth and food consumption difficulties that are associated with the agricultural development in the Arab countries.
