dc.description.abstractThe significant of this study is present in determination of the efficiency of ultrasound is diagnosis the abdominal ascites which is accumulation of fluid in the peritoneum spaces because it is became more spreadable and associated with large numbers of diseases, then evalute the role of U/S in determination the degree of it and differentiated between two type of it. In addition to that aid in definite diagnosis of the causative pathology which lead to ascites. I concentrate my efforts in four point, ascites from liver diseases ,renal diseases ,congestive heart failure and some abdominal ineffectual diseases. The sample of this study was fifty patient whom are taken randomly from Omdurman Military Hospital ,Ibn sina teaching hospital and radiation and isotopes center Khartoum (RICK) in Khartoum city, they are all have U/S examination. The study had been completed in period between Dec 2011-May2012. .The result of this study representing in: • Ultrasound is important method in diagnosis the causative pathology of ascites, the reasons and location of it. • Ultrasound is very informative in demonstrating the degree and differentiation between two type of ascites regardless the age and gender of the patient. • Complication and large amount of ascites is depends on the progression of causative pathology.en_US
