Abstract:
This study aimed to compare US and CT scanning in diagnosing ovarian masses by different techniques and to determine the most perfect modality.
The type and appropriate accessories of transabdominal and endovaginal U/S probes, Spiral CT machine which used in study were discussed, together with each examination protocols and techniques.
20 patients were examined with both modalities they were suspected to have ovarian mass.
After collecting our data by standardized form of questionnaire, and our own practice that include patient records, medical profiles, imaging findings, surgical and histopathological findings . Then the collected data are analyzed .
The conclusion of the study is that the US is superior in diagnosing and evaluating ovarian masses, on the other hand the CT appeared high accuracy in staging the ovarian carcinomas.
Our recommendations and suggestions for further studies were presented at the end of the study.
