Abstract:
Ultrasound for many years is one of the best tools that used for diagnosing and assessment of many clinical entities. It shows us in side the patient rather than out side with higher quality, less expensive and no risks. Urinary bladder pathology is a common, specially in eldery population due to age factors. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the role of ultrasound in diagnosing and assessment of the most common diseases of the urinary bladder.
This study is dependant on three main points:
The thickness of bladder wall.
The presence of any mass within the bladder.
The bladder volume in both empty and full bladder states.
These three points are the most important appearances to which care should be taken when scanning the urinary bladder.
The study has been carried out during the period from Septemper 2005 to March 2006 in the department of radiology and ultrasonography, and urology department in Alnamas General Hospital, KSA.
