Abstract:
The study was done in Wad Madani Teaching hospital in the period from April 2011 to September 2011 to evaluate the efficacy of ultrasound as method of study and diagnosis of vaginal bleeding during first trimester and pregnancy outcome.
The study was determine the type of abortion as a part of vaginal bleeding during first trimester and other causes.
One hundred women patients were scan by real time ultrasound machine 3-4 MHZ and a LOKA machine 3.5 MHZ the study was done in age grope between 15-42 years.
The result of study were: 5% Blighted ovum, 15% Threatened abortion 7% Complete abortion, 40% Incomplete abortion, 26% Missed abortion, 2% Ectopic pregnancy and 2% Sub Serial Fibroid.
In one hundred Case of bleeding were studied that associated with pregnancy, we found abortion is the main cause of in the first trimester and ectopic pregnancy is the ultra sound appearance of an early pregnancy failure by trans vaginal is more than 5mm embryo without cardiac activity, more than 8mm gestational sac without an your sac, more than 16 mm gestational sac without an embryo and flaccid, large or irregular amniotic sac.
Urine for pregnancy test is important investigation in most cases although neglected when there is visible mtrauterine pregnancy or missed abortion.
