Intravenous pyelography (IVU) is of one of the most common radiographic procedures during the management of renal system disorders due to their numerous indications. This study aimed to measure the radiation dose and estimating the risk resulting from exposure to x-ray during IVU. A total of 20 patients were examined in Al Ribat University hospital and Osman Abd Alwhab during the from March 2012 to July 2012.The average of weight, height and BMI were 72.4375kg, 167.75m and 25.6 kg/m², respectively in Osman Abd Alwhab and the average of height, weight and BMI were 170m, 67.72kg and 23.5 kg/m², respectively in Al Ribat University hospital. The mean of exposure factors Kvp,mA , and mAs were 64.3 kv 53mA and 127.29 s respectively and average of number of film per procedure was 5.25film in Osman Abd Alwhab and mean of exposure factors Kvp,mA , and mAs were 67.6kv, 128.3mAand 146.7 s respectively and average of number of film per procedure was 5.3film in Al Ribat University hospital and mean dose is13.50 mGy and ESD is 0.0738mSv in Al Ribat University hospital and 0.239mSv in Osman Abd Alwhab. |
