Analysis of University Staff’s Attitudes on MA Students in Grasping Economic Terms

The purpose of this study is to investigate the point of view of teaching staff on difficulties that encountered by MA students in translating economic texts from English into Arabic. The samples were collected from the English Language and Translation teaching staff at the University of Bahri, College of Languages, Sudan University of Science and Technology, Cambridge University, and Mashreq University. Because translating the economic text is challenging for MA students, the university should provide them with an updated syllabus. Furthermore, because knowledge of the economic background facilitates the process of translating the economic text, the university should implement an economic syllabus lecture for students. Correct economic translation, on the other hand, is dependent on translation practice. As a result, MA students must practice more written translation in order to improve their translation skills.

The study investigated the difficulties of economic terminology and idioms that encountered by MA students of translation in rendering economic text from English into Arabic .Many economic terminologies in the source language contain different meanings this issue means that MA Student could experience difficulties in deciding how the translation context will move towards the target reader. This paper intends to discuss difficulties that MA Students of Translation facing in rendering the terms or idioms, while searching for a clear meaning of the economic texts. Economic translation texts problems usually occur when the meaning of the terms or idioms in the source language is not understood, or totally were unknown terms to MA Students.

Investigating the Significance of using Communication Strategies in Promoting Students' Oral Performance

This study aimed to investigate the significance of using communication strategies to promote students' oral performance, from teachers’ prospections. The sample of this study consist of (30) teachers. The questioner was designed as a tool for this study. The researcher used (SPSS) program to analyze the data. The findings of the study revealed that: Linguistic problems frustrated students to communicate orally, the friendly relationship between teachers and students helps learners’ oral performance, and also Students use gesture to overcome the lexical item difficulties. The researcher recommends that: Teachers should make real communication in the classroom to improve students’ performance. Also teachers should attract the learners’ attention by using body language.
