Mohamed , Tagelsir E.; Abdelgadir , Abdelazim Yassin; Megahed , M.M.; Nasser , Ramadan
This study investigated the effects of nine different mixtures of three lignocellulosic materials and four ratios of cement to lignocellulosic materials (LCM) (2.5:1, 3:1, 3.5:1 and 4:1) on the properties of cement bonded particleboard. The materials were (sunt) Acacia nilotica saw dust, bagasse and cotton stalks. They were collected from different locations in Sudan. Reasonable panel properties were obtained from the three lignocellulosic materials either pure or mixed using different cement/lignocellulosic materials (C/LCM) ratios (3:1, 3.5:1 and 4: 1). The mean values of water absorption percent (WA %) and the thickness swelling percent (TS %) for both the two hours and 24-hours soaking tests, conform favorably to figures reported in previous studies. The highest bending strength (MOR) and modulus of elasticity (MOE) were attained by100% sunt particles with all cement/lignocellulosic materials ratios.

Quantities and Locations of Usher Plants in Sudan
Salem , Hashim Ali; Algalib , Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim
In order to estimate the quantity of ushers (Calotropis procera) plants in Sudan, a simple study, based on choosing random areas (zones) each 4 square kilometers, was conducted. The country was divided into 4 regions. namely North, East, West and Middle. Each region was represented by 50 zones. The total number of usher shrubs in Sudan was estimated to be 1530666. Estimated yields, of usher fibres wood, seed oil and cake were 166, 69 and 88 tons, respectively. The industrial and economic potentials of usher were pinpointed and discussed.

Effect of Balls Size and Fiber Location inside the Ball on Usher Fibers Length
Salem , Hashim Ali; Algalib , Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim
The length of the Usher fibres is a effected by many factors particularly the fibre maturity, green ball size and the location in side the ball where the fibre was picked. The maturity of the fibres is determined by the colour of the seeds. Dark brown colour indicates that the fibre is fully mature and it's ready to be picked. In this research, three methods for measuring Usher fibres length were used; Individual fibre method, Comb-sorter method and The digital fibrograph method. The results obtained showed that Usher fibres are more uniform in length than cotton fibres. The calculated coefficient of variation was 15% and this clearly indicates the degree of its uniformity.

Integration of Technical Problems and Diagnosis of High Water Cut - Sudanese Oil Fields
Abass , Elradi; Merghany , Satti
This paper discusses various aspects of technology relative to control the excess water production in oil fields. It covered the understanding of the water production mechanism which causes water production problems; and it focused on the way of diagnosing the problems of excess water production. The diagnostic plots derivative technique was discovered based on systematic numerical simulation studies especially on reservoir water coning and channeling. Concerning the application of the diagnostic plots the paper provided a simplified computation and quick technique for engineers, by using Microsoft Excel format on calculating and plotting the derivative response, considering two case examples of a Sudanese oil well's data, verification made by comparison result with standard diagnostic plot of Chan. This paper is an integrated technical guide for researchers, geologists and petroleum engineers especially the reservoir engineers on diagnosis of a high water cut problem, which has become a severe problem in the Sudanese oil fields.
