Assessment Of Current Situation Of Ostrich Farm In Khartoum State
Izaldeen, Narriman Naseraldeen Zakria; Supervisor, -Elfatih Eltagi Mahgoub
This study was carried out in Khartoum state to assess the current situation of wildlife farming focusing on Ostrich farms.
Recently attention of Ostrich farming has high significance multiple values for Ostrich and this study was carried out in the period 4/2018-6/2018.
There are 34 wildlife farms in Sudan half of them are located in Khartoum only two farms have interest in breeding Ostrich all this farms registered in Wildlife Conservation General Administration (WCGA).
I collected information by visit field of farms and direct contact or via telephone moreover returning to records in WCGA
The Nile farm in east Nile locality Alalphoon make appoint of breeding black neck Ostrich site of collection from Saudi Arabia and the original site South Africa and the farm established in the year 2013 for commercial purpose and it property to investor Alsadig Hassan there is 700 Ostrich in area of 300 acre
Wildlife Research Center farm in Bahry locality and has interested breeding red neck Ostrich, and the site of collection from Al Geteena it was established in year 2014 for scientific research and it follow wildlife Research Center it found 7 Ostrich mixed with other wild animals.
The study shows that in terms of economic issue there is no factories to zeal the investor to go in this realm and little interest in products also no local markets in addition to lack of awareness for the communities.
Ostrich farming in the Sudan is so poorly established in numbers and stocks to allow statistical significance of such trend farms progress.
The study recommend that it is more important intensive scientific research and cooperation with association bodies and facilitation the procedures for establishing the farms.

Assessment of Current situation for Wildlife Resource in Khartoum State with Emphases to Sunnt Forest
Mohamed Noor, RashaYasien; Supervisor, -Elfatih Eltagi Mahgoub
The study was conducted to evaluation for wildlife resource in Khartoum state, then evaluation this resource with form or constitute cyclic give clear idea about increase or decrease wildlife resource in Sunnt forest consideration it one of supreme natural habitats for wildlife in Khartoum state. And taking measures corollary and also some give a present from services for citizens and some give of citizens across this resource from protection and conservation on it. Also this study handles impact acquaintance enactment legislation and polices to control of manipulator with wildlife resource and method or how to manage it and put the effective plan.
Accomplish sunnt forest in the year 1932 for assistance railway and firewood for bakery and afterwards as urban, recreational forest. Also this study handle importance of wildlife natural habitats in state and important role which's play in ecosystem and some give from needs of fodder for national herd and activity management and method protection. And through study show or become apparent sunt forest is not lonely in state but there's a many forest in Khartoum state, 124 in locality of east Nile, 97 in locality of Bahri, 10 in locality of Karri, 29 in locality of Ombda, 23 in locality South of countryside, and all of them following for co –operation national of forest state due to there is different groups of wildlife.
The study recommend management should consider for concepts, principles, criteria and indicators in order to approach sustainable development in the forestry and wildlife resource.
Also increasing area of forest assimilate it natural environment for wildlife by reserving of areas at ratio not less 25% of the total area of the state.
And also recommend with conducting studies and researches in order to lay out or arrange the necessary plans for assessing forest and wildlife resource all over the Sudan and developing them.

Effect of Adding Different levels of Azanza grackeana Fruit Juice on the Chemical and Sensory Characteristics of Stirred Yoghurt
Mohammed, Abdelnaser Ali Abdallah; Supervisor, -Omer Ibrahim Ahmed Hamid
This study was conducted in the Dairy Science and Technology Laboratory, College of Animal Production Science and Technology, Sudan University of Science and Technology, during 2022 to determine effect of different levels of Azanza juice on chemical and sensory properties of yoghurt. Cow's milk obtained from farm of College of Animal Production Science and Technology, Sudan University of Science and Technology. In this study four treatments were carried out. Four liters of milk were pasteurized at 80°C for 1 hour , then cooled to 40°C, the starter culture (Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp.bulgricus) was added at the rate of 2%, then incubated at 45°C until coagulation occurred, then the yoghurt was divided into four equal portions , the first treatment was control without Azanza fruit juice while in the second, third and fourth treatment Azanza juice(Azanza juice at a concentration of 60%.) was added at the rate of 10%, %15 and % 20, respectively. All the treatments were subjected to chemical analysis (fat, protein, total solids, ash, acidity) and sensory evaluation (colour, flavour, taste, texture and general appearance). Then the obtained results were subjected to statistical analysis ANOVA using the least significant difference (LSD) test to find out the difference among the treatments. The results showed a significant difference in the percentage of ash and total solids, and there were no significant differences in the percentage of fat, protein and acidity. The highest percentage of total solids and ash were in the fourth treatment, which contains 20% Azanza juice. The results showed that there were high significant difference in color, flavour, texture and taste for sensory evaluation, while there was no significant difference for the general appearance. It was concluded from the study that Azanza juice had an effect on the chemical and sensory properties of yogurt.

Sudan is one of the African countries with higher livestock population. The total livestock population of the country is estimated at 31.78 millions of cattle, 41 millions of sheep, 32.22 millions of goats and 4.92 millions of camels. This huge population of livestock provides many opportunities for the development of the leather sector in the country. The main source of raw material for the Sudan tanning sector comes from sheep, goat and cattle. Camel (Camelus dromedarius) is one of the most important livestock uniquely adapted to hot dry environments. Sudan holds the second largest camel population in the world (about 4.92 million). Camels in Sudan and elsewhere are classified as pack (heavy) and riding (light) types according to their function. Recent studies have been made to classify the camels according to their performance (dairy camels, meat camels, dual purpose camels and racing camels). In the present study, camel hides were used for manufacture of upper crust leathers and compare with conventional cow hides. Histological analysis of the camel hide and cow hide has been carried out at soaking operation. The physical and chemical analysis indicates that the experimental camel leathers are comparable to control cow leathers in terms of all the properties. The bulk properties (softness , fullness, grain tightness and appearance) for the experimental leathers are better than control leathers. Scanning electron microscopic analysis for both control and experimental leather samples show good separation of fiber bundles. The chemical and physical characteristics of the experimental camel leather revealed that the camel hide raw material was suitable for making of shoe upper leather. In Sudan camel was considered as best alternative animal to conventional raw materials such as sheep, goat and cattle due to its higher off take rate.
