Maturity onset diabetes of the young (Mody3) is a monogenic form of diabetes. Gene defects in the Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor -1 alpha (HNF1-α) causes MODY3. HNF1-α gene located in the chromosome (12q24.2).A prevalent amino acid polymorphism at Ala98Val,I27L inexon-1 of HNF1-α was shown to be associated with diabetes in different study in many countries Asian, there for the aim of the study to see the classification and percentage of the patients have MODY have mutations of HNF1-α (MODY 3) gene with references to exon 1 by amplifying and sequenceing the coding regions of the gene in the etiology of diabetes in a sample of Sudanese families in Khartoum State. This was a case control study, conducted at the period from October 2013 to August 2017, in Khartoum state. Blood samples were collected from 80 diabetic patients, and 80 non-diabetic controls. Age, sex, weight, and height were recorded. Biochemical profiles of blood glucose level, HbA1c and C-peptide were estimated. From extracted DNA, exon 1 in HNF1-α gene was amplified using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) was carried out to identify the occurrence of A98V mutation. Then DNA sequencing was done to detect other mutation in coding region of exon 1. HNF1-α A98V mutation was investigated in all patients and controls by PCR- RFLP, this mutation was not detected in all participants, and the result was confirmed by using DNA sequencing, while other two SNPs missense(I27L) and synonymous (L17L) were also detected. The study showed the occurrence of two mutations I27L &L17L, in one Sudanese diabetic family while L17L mutation was detected alone in 4 different Sudanese families

Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is an autosomal dominant form of non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), it’s a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by dysfunction of beta-cells, and usually referred to monogenic forms of diabetes mellitus to distinguish them from the common types of disease such as type 1 or type 2 diabetes. (M. Vaxillaire et al. 2008 (.Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the prevalence and nature of mutations in GCK gene among Sudanese families.
Exons 7were screened, which are specific for pancreatic glucokinase, mutations at positions 682A>G, p.T228A; in 160 subjects (80 patients suspected to have MODY2 and 80 healthy controls without family history of diabetes mellitus). By using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) the target part of GCK gene was amplified, the amplified regions were digested by using restriction enzymes: BstUI and electrophoresed on agarose gel. Results of mutation were screened using restriction fragment length polymorphism and confirm by using DNA sequencing.
The results showed that, there was no any association of these mutations in Sudanese suspected MODY2 patients or in healthy controls. On the other hand during analysis of the DNA sequences observed three synonymous mutations, in one family that may have significant effect on the protein function
In conclusion, the study indicates that mutations in GCK/MODY2 at position 682A>G, p.T228A is not detected in Sudanese families

Chikungunya fever was poorly documented and rarely considered in diagnosis of viral fevers according to the WHO, this study aimed to focus on co-circulation of chikungunya virus and dengue virus in Kassala state, Sudan, and highlights the clinical findings that are mutual in both viral infections, and laboratory investigations. This prospective study was conducted in Kassala state, Sudan. Upon 50 clinically suspected cases. The age group of the study population ranged from 14- 75 years old, all Chikungunya cases suffered from fever, (28%) of them were reported to have polyalrthralgia. Both genders were affected. 50 serum samples were examined for serology and molecular techniques for the detection of both chikungunya and dengue virus. Only (10%) of suspected chikungunya cases were IgM positive, and (42%) of study population were DENV IgM positive, only one patient (2%) was both CHIKV/DENV IgM positive. This study proved that chikungunya viral infection existed in Kassala state, Sudan while there is ongoing endemic infections of dengue virus thus co-circulation, and one case was proved to have both viruses’ IgM antibody, thus coinfection.

The consequent of non-application the reliability system on the ATM will lead to big problems which are non-increase of productivity and the lack of optimal utilization of machines and reflect on economic development. The aim of this paper is to apply lifetime models on the failure time of the automatic teller machine (ATM) in Sudan and estimate the parameter and reliability of the machines, in order to compare between machines. failure's data has been taken from Central Bank of Sudan, which is, type of machine, type of failure, Downtime, Uptime and outage duration in Hrs. during the period of time (1/1/2017-30/6/2017).The comparison between five machines selected randomly out of 28 machines have done. Through the lifetime models estimation (failure distribution, reliability, hazard rate, and mean time to failure (MTTF)), using Bayes method in estimate the parameters and reliability of exponential distribution. The comparison is executed through reliability values; from analysis results it is clear that, the failure time of all machines follow exponential distribution with one-parameter, according to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and Chi-Squared test for goodness of fit result. The machines no (B5 and B35) have high reliability compered by other machines. When we predict the reliability according to the time we found that the reliability decrease and hazard rate increase and there is relationship between MTTF and reliability. Finally to the extending of study span the authors recommended to include all types of ATM faults (out of cash and out of serves). Furthermore, the authors recommended that when expanding or adding a new machine, it is preferable to buy the machine with high reliability.
