Abstract:
The study aimed to assess the impact of the pressures of work on extensionists at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and forestry and its effect on job performance.
To achieve this the researcher used social survey method, questionnaire were designed .16-questions (6) questions about the personal characteristics of extensionsts , and 10 questions about the pressures of work and its impact on job performance.
The researcher questioned the respondents ,population which consisted of 50 extensionists and the data were analyzed using percentages and frequencies, and chi square-test.
The study found the following results:
There is a relationship between demographic variables and the work pressure at (0.02). The study also found a relationship between the variables (the nature of work, job security) and the pressures of work at (0.000). Finally, it was found that the functional variables have more impact on the work pressures than the demographic variables.
Finally, the researcher recommends the following:
First: prepare special programs for the training of newly recruited workers to develop their skills in dealing with the pressures of work to reduce the pressure on workers at the beginning of their careers.
Second, ease the pressures of work arising from the limited opportunities for promotion.
Third, work to increase and build human relationships between supervisors and subordinates by holding meetings and friendly atmosphere away from the work and its problems.
Fourth, increase the material and moral incentives for the extensionists and the creation of fair and objective rules in the distribution.
