Abstract:
Computed tomography angiography (CTA) has emerged as a useful diagnostic imaging modality in the assessment of arteries disease. However, the potential risks due to exposure to ionizing radiation associated with CTA have raised concerns. The CTA provides noninvasive examination of the patient. Prior to the introduction of CTA conventional angiography had been considered of the best initial imaging test for evaluation of blood vessels but is to invasive for the patient. The objectives of this study were to measure patient radiation dose during CTA imaging, and estimation of radiation risk for patient in Khartoum State, Sudan. The study was conducted in one radiological department (Al-Amal National hospital) equipped with 64 slice CT
