Abstract:
This is cross sectional study carried out at Khartoum State ,during the period from March 2015
to July 2015 .
The aim of study is to determine the frequency of antiphospholipid antibodies (APL) among
women with recurrent miscarriage.
Forty women each with more than three consecutive recurrent miscarriage were participated in
this study ,women with known cause of miscarriage were excluded from this study
Data was collected through written questionnaire , then specimen of 2ml of venous blood was
drawn from each participant and placed in plain container , and tested for antiphospholipid
(APL) )IgM\IgG) antibodies and anticadiolipn antibodies (ACL ) (IgM/IgG) was done using
ELISA assay, Results were analyzed by SPSS (Statistical Package of Social Science).
Results showed the frequency of APL 28%, and the frequency of ACL 20%.
Insignificance association between presence of APL, ACL and female age, family history of
miscarriage and number of miscarriages (p.value > 0.05) was observed.
The study concluded that the presence of APL and ACL is associated with recurrent miscarriage.
No significance association between presence of APL, and ACL according female age, family
history of miscarriage and number of miscarriages.
